About Me

In my first year at Southville, I was the Science, Computer and ESL teacher of first and second grade students. For this year, I still handled Science, now together with Art and Non-CL subjects.

I made the big leap to Education 5 years into what I call a "going-nowhere" career in Information Technology despite earning a degree in Management Information Systems at the Ateneo de Manila University back in 2000.

With the guidance of my parents and blessings from my former boss, I quit my last IT job of 2 years and enrolled at De La Salle University for a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. While being Lead Teacher to a 4's class at Toddlers Unlimited Learning Center, I obtained my teacher's license in 2006 and pursued graduate studies. It was then I knew that teaching was really for me because I felt so at home in my studies and at work. The extreme challenge was the thesis, which unfortunately took 2 years to finish. But then again, it was still a great accomplishment because out of 15 in our batch, I was just the second to graduate.

Flash forward to 2010: I finally passed my thesis defense! That was certainly the BIGGEST achievement I've ever accomplished, I felt there is a need to include it here :)
October 9, I finally earned my master's degree. With that came the courage to tread the unfamiliar waters of the big school that is Southville International School and Colleges. I would have wanted to still be a preschool teacher, but I'm in a good place now and I think I'll stay awhile longer here. :)
